Sight Height (each print) 14 in., Width 9.75 in. Framed Height 24 in., Width 30.5 in. Two antique Japanese ukiyo-e color woodblock prints attributed to Utagawa school masters Toyokuni and/or Toyoshige, dating to the mid-19th century Edo period (circa 1850). The works depict traditional figural subjects rendered in vibrant polychrome pigments with characteristic line precision and compositional balance associated with the Utagawa school. Printed on handmade washi paper using traditional carved woodblocks. Both prints are presented together in a single frame. An accompanying certificate of authentication dated 1979 from Yokoyama, Japan is affixed to the verso.
