Height 11.25 in., Width 15.5 in. Imprimerie Chaix, Paris. This lovely Art Nouveau color lithographic poster was designed by Catalan Modernist artist Alexandre de Riquer and promoted the 3rd Exhibition of Fine Industrial Arts, a competition held in Barcelona. This print was part of a wildly popular subscription series of small-sized prints called Les Les Maitres de lAffiche (The Masters of the Poster) which featured works by 97 artists from France, Italy, England, and Germany. The Masters of the Poster series was conceived by Master Printer Jules Cheret, inventor of the three-stone lithographic printing process and often considered the founder of the modern poster. The first four plates of the series were released December 1895 and the final prints were made November 1900 with a total of 256 plates printed.
