Height 1 in., Width 8 in., Depth 8 in. Weight 1 lb. 11.9 oz. This lovely square Tiffany & Co. dish features a basket weave design. This Tiffany and Co molded crystal tray or vide poche is of square form with a flat polished center panel framed by a broad border cast in a woven basket weave pattern of interlaced vertical and horizontal ribs, the outer edge finished with a fine rope twist or beaded border creating a clean architectural frame to the overall composition. The basket weave pattern is a recurring and beloved motif in the Tiffany and Co decorative arts vocabulary, appearing across the firms silver, crystal and ceramic productions and evoking the hand craft traditions that have been central to the Tiffany aesthetic since the 19th century. The original Tiffany blue sticker label is still visible on the crystal surface and the piece retains its original Tiffany blue box -- a significant factor in desirability and value as Tiffany pieces with their original packaging consistently command a premium in the secondary market. The crystal is of excellent quality with strong clarity and well defined molded detail throughout, in mint condition with no chips, scratches or losses.
