Featuring a bold, abstract style in which all elements are distilled down to essential, interlocking forms, Ostraus aesthetic is heavily indebted to Bay Area Figuration, with roots in the en plein air tradition of nineteenth-century French Impressionism. Her paintings are consequently suffused with atmosphere, movement, and vibrant complementary colors.
