Height 30 in., Width 41 in., Depth 13 in. Robert D. (Bob) Cumpston lived nearly his entire life on his family farm in McClean County, Illinois, except for a stint in the U.S. Air Force. After working as a corn and bean farmer, in 1976, Cumpston became a full-time sculptor. Heralded on PBS Roadshow appraisals, he and his wife spent nearly 40 years traveling the U.S. to participate and sell his works in art fairs and exhibitions. Bob was best known for his metal animal sculptures made from farm implement parts. His beloved sculptures are widely collected and are included in private collections and museums around the country.
