Set (5) Sight Height 13 in., Width 8.5 in. each. Framed Height 22 in., Width 15 in. These gouache paintings depicts a richly caparisoned elephant, objects, and deityies in a stately poses, executed in the Rajasthani miniature tradition on antique Jaipur court document paper. The elephant is adorned with a bold red and gold howdah blanket, decorative ankle bands, and a blue headdress, rendered with confident brushwork characteristic of late 19th century Rajputana court painting. The paper bears a prominent Jaipur Government Court Fee Stamp reading Eight Annas, with Devanagari text identifying the document as Raj Sarkar Jaipur and a Samvat calendar date inscription. The work is presented in a contemporary black frame with neutral mat, the painting surface showing age-appropriate toning and minor edge wear consistent with the period. A companion work to similar elephant studies executed on colonial-era Jaipur stamp paper documents by artists of the Rajasthani court tradition.
