Contemporary American artist Peter Marcus is recognized for his large-scale composite prints using a unique collagraph printmaking process. The artist describes his work as one that crosses boundaries between painting, printmaking and drawing. Marcus served as Professor of Art at Washington University in St. Louis, MO for over 30 years. Upon retirement, Marcus relocated to Jamestown, Rhode Island, where he currently resides. Originally from New York, Peter earned a BS from Parsons School of Design and MFA from Brooklyn College, with special studies in printmaking at the Scuola del Libro in Urbana, Italy. Marcus has exhibited across the U.S. and is represented in the collections of the Newport Art Museum, St. Louis Art Museum, and Dallas Museum of Art, among others.
