Sight; height 8.75 in., width 13.25 in. Framed; height 17.75 in., width 22.0 in.; This piece was created for inclusion in the Parisian art and literary quarterly Verve. On the verso of this print is a Joan Miro lithograph that incorporates the title of the work and Klee's name. It is presumed that, Klee could not travel to Paris to oversee the printing of this work at Mourlot, and Joan Miro may have Klee depicts winter signed for him. The image reflects a sleeping woman whose round belly, encompassing a red heart, anticipates the arrival of spring. Believed to be one of approximately 2000 unsigned impressions from the book edition on smooth velin paper.
