14 in. length, 8 in. width, 6 in. depth. Carved wood dance mask of a smiling human face with painted lashes and inset teeth, crowned and enveloped by a full bodied jaguar whose snarling head with bared teeth, orange crest and red tongue projects below the chin, its legs and curled tail wrapping the sides, painted ochre with black and red ring spots. Hollowed reverse with eye and tie holes and a darkened interior consistent with use, in the tradition of the Danza de los Tecuanes of Guerrero.

Wear consistent with age and use including paint losses to the nose, muzzle and edges, a split across one haunch, small insect holes and a natural knot void to the side, darkening and grime to the reverse. No major breaks.
