Sight Height 39 in., Width 30 in. Framed Height 50 in., Width 39.5 in. Signed lower right, numbered 2/5 USA Olympic Committee lower left. This large format screenprint by Hiro Yamagata was produced as the official fencing event poster for the 1996 Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games, published by Fine Art Ltd. of St. Louis as an officially licensed product of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games. Two fencers in full protective gear are depicted in dynamic combat against a deep navy ground animated with concentric target circles, neon blue auras and bursts of cosmic color, rendered in Yamagatas distinctive psychedelic realist style. The composition is dominated by bold outlines, flat fields of cobalt blue, gold, red and white, with the competitor numbers 088 and 180 visible on the fencers helmets, grounding the image in the competitive context of the Games. The impression is numbered and pencil signed by the artist in the lower margin, with the official Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games logo and Fine Art Ltd. publisher imprint present below the image. The print is in excellent condition with vivid unfaded colors, presented in a white frame with white mat.
