Two fencers in full protective gear are depicted in dynamic combat against a deep navy ground animated with concentric target circles, neon blue auras and bursts of cosmic color, rendered in Yamagatas distinctive psychedelic realist style. The composition is dominated by bold outlines, flat fields of cobalt blue, gold, red and white, with the competitor numbers 088 and 180 visible on the fencers helmets, grounding the image in the competitive context of the Games. The impression is numbered and pencil signed by the artist in the lower margin, with the official Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games logo and Fine Art Ltd. publisher imprint present below the image.
