This lithograph by Gustave Singier is a prime example of the French artists abstract style and features a expressive, colorful imagery using bright reds, blues, teal, and yellow. In addition to his studio practice, he served as Professor of painting for 11 years at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In addition to his studio work, he created many tapestries, mosaics, costumes, and scenery, including for the OpEra de Paris, and his artwork served to illustrate several books by French authors. Singiers work is included in private, museum and institutional collections such as MoMA and the Art Institute of Chicago.
