Impressionist study of a young woman reclining on a draped divan, her golden hair worked in thick palette knife impasto, a sheer white chemise slipping from her shoulder, set against a dark paneled wall in warm umber. Signed lower left Rabenau in block capitals, in a deep gilt and bronzed frame with ivy leaf and berry ornament.
Condition
Paint surface with heavy impasto intact, light surface grime and minor scuffs, not examined out of the frame. Frame with gilt rubbing and small losses to the ornament.
