Height 2 in., diameter 5.25 in. Very early career, 1947, work by Roddy Brownlee Reed. The tall tapering bowl with small circular base in muted mauve pink crackle glaze overall visible only inside the vessel while the exterior is decorated in black/brown gold bars in reverse tumbling exuberantly down the sides with crackle pattern of the glaze showing through, signed R. Reed 47 on the small base. Similar work may be seen in the permanent collections at the Smithsonian and of the Canton Museum of Art.
