He studied at the Portland Museum of Art School and the University of Oregon and also was a graduate of Yale University with a BFA in 1924. He was head of the Design Department at Washburn College, Topeka in 1937 and resigned to go to Hollins College, Hollins, VA in 1938 and became head of the Design Department there in 1941. This image depicts the back of a female models body, slightly facing the artist. Pencil signed by artist and numbered 8/25. Dated 1943.
