12 in. height, 9 in. width. A sailboat with two figures running before the wind across turquoise water beneath billowing impasto clouds, with gulls overhead. Signed lower left Joan Howe, verso inscribed in pencil with the title Almost Home, the artist name and Marathon, Florida address and dated Dec. 22, 1961, unframed.
Craquelure and small losses to the impasto clouds, water staining to the verso.
