Diameter 10 in. This circular carved plaster or marble composite medallion bears in relief the USA Olympic emblem -- the five interlocking Olympic rings below the letters USA within a laurel wreath border -- and is hand signed in black ink by Bruce Jenner, the American decathlete who won the gold medal at the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympics and was widely celebrated as the greatest athlete in the world following his victory. The medallion appears to be a decorative commemorative piece, the relief carving crisp and well defined with the USA and Olympic rings clearly legible, the textured irregular outer edge suggesting either a cast or hand carved production. Bruce Jenner autographed material signed under the birth name is increasingly sought by collectors as Jenner -- who later transitioned and is now known as Caitlyn Jenner -- no longer signs as Bruce Jenner, making signed items from the earlier period finite in supply. The signature is clear, bold and consistent in style with documented Bruce Jenner signed examples. Authentication by a reputable third party service such as JSA or Beckett prior to sale would be advisable to confirm the signature and maximize buyer confidence and realized price. Condition is very good with the relief carving sharp and the signature clear with no fading or damage.
