This is an antique lot of a ceremonial Masonic Knights Templar swords with their original scabbards. Due to oxidation on the sword, ownership and attribution is not possible. It is highly decorated with gilded details to the blades. The sword is 38 1/2 long including the scabbard. The blade length is 30 and the ricasso is 1. An ornate ceremonial sword, this is likely late 19th century, with a knights head-shaped pommel, white bone grip engraved with initials on one side and a templar cross on the other, and a chain link hand guard. The highly oxidized silver crossguard still manages to be rather eye-catching with its elaborate design, showing a filigree design, two Templar crosses on either end, and the depiction of the order insignia a red cross within a crown inside a Maltese cross, their motto surrounding the image IN HOC SIGNO VINCES (IN THIS SIGN YOU SHALL CONQUER). The blade is acid etched with attractive Templar motifs, filigree designs. At the ricasso is the maker mark. Notable cracking to the leather, with heavy oxidation to the cross guard and pommel of the blade.
